#17: Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before
If you have someone with dementia or other memory problems in your life, this next one will really ring a bell. They may tell you the same story or ask you the same question or make the same comment time and time again, and the kind thing to do is to just let them do it, not embarrassing them by drawing attention to the fact that they already told you the story about the time that they and Grandpa won a limbo contest on a cruise ship.

Besides, I figure, I’m in no place to judge: I tell people the same story over and over again, but not because I have dementia, just because I have terrible memory. So I can hardly think less of Grandma if she does the same thing.
