48 Confusing Designs That Prove Some People Really Shouldn’t be Given So Much Power

Staircases are serious business when it comes to design. Building designers and businesses need to make sure that staircase designs are as accessible and safe as possible. Any unclear steps or infuriating designs could run the risk of customer injury. No one wants that! Unfortunately, the company that designed this staircase didn’t get the memo. 

There’s nothing clearly “wrong” with this staircase, but it’s weird. Don’t ask us why. We just feel uneasy and slightly aggravated when we look at this design. There’s something about how the first step isn’t a step at all. The wooden plank is completely flush with the plush black carpet. What’s the point of that? We have no idea.
