#38: Ann Sheridan & George Brent
Ann Sheridan and George Brent met at Warner Bros. in the late 1930s, part of the studio’s habit of pairing attractive stars on and off screen. Their romance unfolded through shared films, studio events, and Hollywood parties, presented publicly as effortless and glamorous.

They married in 1942, but the relationship quickly faltered. Brent’s heavy drinking and emotional distance clashed with Sheridan’s warmth and ambition. They divorced in 1943, remaining friendly. The brief marriage became another example of studio-arranged romance failing under real-life pressures.
