#14: Hands Off the Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizers have been around for a long time. They sure seem like a convenient way to clean up your hands when you don’t have access to soap and water. Even when you have access, these little bottles are just so much handier. But did you know that hand sanitizer isn’t all that great for you?
Hand sanitizer is overflowing with alcohol, which is incredibly drying for your skin. Unfortunately, all this drying out of your top layer of skin can actually damage it. Furthermore, the bacteria we are trying to kill can become immune to the sanitizer, even evolving into tougher-to-kill bacteria. So, no thanks; we’ll stick to soap and water.
