#11: Deep Sleep Disturbances
Have you ever woken up feeling completely miserable, as if you hardly slept at all, even though you slept for a respectable 8 hours? And then other mornings, you pop out of bed like a little ray of sunshine, right? If you’ve ever wondered what that’s about, it could have something to do with your sleep cycles.
You cycle through a few stages of sleep during the night, and your deepest part of sleep is called the REM stage. When we wake up during that very deep stage of sleep, it’s pretty stressful for our bodies. Unfortunately, we can’t naturally avoid waking during REM sleep. Still, in our modern age of technology, we can rely on certain apps that can measure our sleep and only wake us during the lighter stages of sleep.
