#33: His Irish Upbringing in Ireland Taught Him a Lot About Division
Born on June 7, 1952, in the small town of Ballymena, Liam Neeson was the third of four children in a working-class Catholic family. His father worked as a school custodian, while his mother cooked for local institutions. The Neeson household wasn’t lavish, but it was full of warmth, structure, and strong values.

Growing up in a town steeped in religious tension gave young Liam a firsthand understanding of division and belonging, themes he would later explore through his acting. Those formative years, though far from glamorous, provided him with the moral foundation that would guide his adult life.
