There is much wildlife to enjoy in Alaska. Whether you’re thinking about moving to Alaska or vacationing there this year, we’re confident that you’ll enjoy some of the beautiful wildlife that can be found in this state.

Wolves
This beautiful animal roams 85% of Alaska. Since this beautiful wildlife is found so often and has a high population count, it’s said that there may be one wolf for every 25 square miles. This state is the home of the gray wolf that is dwindling in population in other states in America.
Elk
While this beautiful animal was imported to Alaska from Washington State back in the 1920s, it’s certainly an animal best suited for living in the terrain of Alaska. This wild animal looks so majestic and the males can grow to weigh 1300 lbs.

Bison
This one nearly extinct animal is now thriving in Alaska since the multi-year project helped bring them back to nature. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game helped bring the wood bison back with their program and now you can enjoy seeing this beautiful wildlife in Alaska.
Polar Bears
These beautiful bears spend most of their life on or near the ice so it’s no wonder that they enjoy living in some parts of Alaska. They have the fur that protects them from water, as it’s waterproof and the body to withstand the cold temperatures of the Alaskan climate.
Caribou
These are often called reindeer and are most certainly some of the most beautiful wildlife that can be found in Alaska. This animal uses its hooves as paddles to swim, so while you won’t see Caribou flying you will see them swimming rather effectively in Alaska.

Dall Sheep
This adorable sheep have long curly horns and can be found gracing in the mountains of Alaska during the summer and winter months. They forge through the snow to find food during the winter months and survive in both seasons in Alaska.
Salmon
The salmon swim upstream during their migration season. The bears have learned this migration pattern and can be found trying to grab some food when the salmon in Alaska migrate. This is a spectacular sight to see while you’re visiting Alaska during salmon migration season.
Alaska is a very different place to visit. They have a lot of forest areas and wildlife to enjoy. We hope that this list of the most beautiful wildlife in Alaska will intrigue you to visit this state sometime in the near future.
