The Adopted Rabbit Story
“In the summer of 2010, my daughter adopted a rabbit from our local shelter. She named him Harvey and had been bottle feeding him since she got him at 8 weeks old. In June of 2011, I moved in with her to take care of her four kids so that she could go back to college. In August, she brought me a 10-week old bunny that had been abandoned at the shelter. She named him Cabbie and figured my dog would scare him off if he tried to hurt her or Harvey.
One day in October, I was trying to get everyone out of the house so I could clean it when Harvey bit me on my wrist. I think it was because I was moving too fast for him to try and get away from me. That rabbit weighs more than my dog! When Cabbie saw the blood, he went wild. The first thing that flew out of his cage was a 10-inch dildo that had been given to us as a joke by one of our friends. We had never gotten the idea to use it, but Cabbie sure liked it! He would rub his head all over it and try to pick it up in his mouth and run around with it. For a week straight, my daughter and I tried to get him back in his cage with no luck at all. It was so funny watching him run with that thing! I have no idea why he suddenly decided to be so serious about it because that was not normal behavior for him. We made sure to keep both our rabbits in the same room, but after a while, Cabbie just lost interest in his toy.”
Rabbit Punching Story
“My family got a new pet rabbit a few weeks ago. We named him Buttons because his eyes reminded us of the buttons on our old teddy bear.
Well, my three older brothers like to play tricks on me, so they decided to try and make Buttons attack me. They would wake up before I got home from school and sneak him into their room. Then they would shove him under the rug and tell me that I was tripping over him as soon as I got in the door. Well, he bit two of my brothers and now they’re scared to touch him! Now they just let me play with him whenever I want.”
Warm Rabbit Story
“My friend Holly’s mom has a rabbit named General. The thing is, this rabbit does not like to be held or even petted. In fact, he gets so scared that he sometimes pees himself. Well, one day Holly was in her room when she heard the most awful noise come out of the living room. She ran out there to find her mom sitting in the recliner, General on her lap, and him literally punching her mother in the stomach with his little front paws. Holly just laughed so hard that she had to run back into her room to calm down.”
