Closing the CBGB: The End of an Era
The CBGB club was another iconic New York establishment. It opened in 1973 as a dive bar which late became a biker bar, and those were only two of its stages. Although the owners wanted to create a blues club, it quickly became a famed location of punk rock and new wave bands, where bands including Blondie and Ramones performed.

In the early 2000s, the CBGB was facing controversy over rent disputes, and many bands performed at the club in the hopes of donating the revenues and keeping the popular establishment alive. However, the bar eventually closed in October 2006. The last performance was played by Patti Smith, who was a big fan of the place.
