During one tense moment when all three leads were on set together, John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt were deliberately ignoring Suzanne Somers. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and unmistakably strained.
Don Knotts chose not to go along with it. He walked up to Ritter and DeWitt and calmly said, “Excuse me, I’m going to go talk to Suzanne,” before crossing the set to stand with her.
