911 Operators of Reddit Answer the Question: What’s the Strangest Call They Took

A lot of these stories have been about 911, which is an American institution, so it’s nice to read a list of funny stories from Australia, reminding us that people all over the world misuse emergency services, not just the Americans. My favorite on this list, by far, is the last one.

People who are already at the emergency room apparently sometimes call an ambulance so that… they can return to the emergency room? Do they think that calling an ambulance is going to get them moved to the front of the line? When you’re at the ER, other people have emergencies too, and the front desk is doing their best to make sure people get seen. You just have to trust the system.
