When it comes to religion and faith, many people will believe almost anything if it brings them closer to God. And whilst this might sound silly to some, it makes perfect sense… We all desperately want to belong to something, connect to someone, and even have faith in something so that we have meaning in life.

But it is important to recognize when this faith is actually a money-making scheme. The Shroud of Turin was believed for centuries to be the linen fabric that was used to wrap Jesus’ body for burial. Through years of research and specific techniques, it was found that this couldn’t have been his shroud due to the time period. However, that didn’t stop people from making money off of this cloth…
