#13: It’s About Having a Choice
This is a great point: humans hate getting wet – unless they decide to. We have no problem with showers, pools, and beaches, or even lakes and fountains. But we have a problem with rain. Basically, we have a problem with getting wet in any situation that wasn’t a choice. It makes sense, in a way.
Maybe it’s not about getting wet, but it’s the lack of choice – the lack of control. We don’t like to be caught by surprise. Maybe that’s why some people don’t like surprise parties. They want to be in control of every situation and everything that happens to them. Or maybe it’s about rain. There’s something very annoying about water falling down from the sky.
