The hoverboard
A sci-fi staple for years, real hoverboards were released to the public five years ago in 2015. They seemed to be a huge technological advance, and a hoverboard was written on every kid’s wishlist! But things didn’t quite go according to plan as consumers ran into dangerous situations with their new hoverboards.
One of the biggest problems with the hoverboards was their tendency to catch on fire. Yep, if you were charging your hoverboard and left it plugged in for too long, or if you used it for an excessive amount of time, there was a very real chance that its battery would explode and the whole thing would go up in flames.
