The Sword Is Mightier Than the Pen
“The pen is mightier than the sword,” is a phrase that’s uttered with reverence in high school advanced English classes. Write till your heart’s content! Words have power! However, this person decided to get technical. “I’m pretty sure you can’t cut off heads with a pen,” they replied. Undoubtedly with a hint of smugness.
That’s not the point, Claudia! Words hold an immense amount of might. They have meaning because we imbue them with meaning. They can prevent wars and bring lovers together. Yes, technically swords can decapitate. But you can get through to people with a pen, and hurt them with your words, so, that’s something.
