Treat People as You Please
You’ve heard The Golden Rule (not Golden Girls): “Treat people the way you want to be treated.” The person below had a bone to pick with that particular saying. “Not everyone wants to be treated the same way I do. For instance, I’m a hugger. Not everyone wants to be hugged.”
There’s an easy solution to that – don’t hug everyone you see without their consent. Unless you know them really well and they enjoy a good hug. We think this person may be picking this one apart a bit too much. You can be nice without being physical. Being kind doesn’t require consent. You don’t have to encroach on someone’s personal bubble to be genuine.
