#24: Giften a Buffalo from Theodore Roosevelt
This person’s great-grandfather was quite the adventurer! Born in Germany and allegedly killing a German officer before fleeing to the United States, he worked as a ranch hand for none other than Theodore Roosevelt himself. Talk about a resume booster! And to top it off, he even got gifted a buffalo rifle from the former president, which sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

But of course, things can’t be that easy – the rifle was later taken by one of the user’s grandma’s brothers after their dad died. Maybe he was just trying to keep it in the family, or maybe he wanted to sell it on eBay. Either way, it’s a story worth telling, and it’s like their great-grandfather was living out a real-life Western movie.
