#33: Bathroom Etiquette
This is definitely something everyone should know, but an alarming amount of people never even consider it. I know we’ve all been taught to flush the toilet after doing our business, but here’s a pro tip: close the lid before you flush. Why, you ask? Well, it turns out that when you flush with the lid open, it can spray all sorts of nasty particles (think: fecal matter, urine, and germs) up into the air and onto nearby surfaces.

Gross, right? By closing the lid before you flush, you’re containing those particles and keeping them from contaminating the rest of the bathroom. Not to mention, it’s just good hygiene practice in general. So, let’s all make a pact to close the lid and keep our bathrooms as clean and germ-free as possible. Your roommates, family members, and guests will thank you.
