#22: They Were Metaphorically Clowns
You tell your kid stories about work—about the chaos, the nonsense, the daily circus. Then “Take Your Child to Work Day” rolls around, and she’s expecting literal face paint and balloon animals. When she bursts into tears asking, “Where are all the clowns you said you work with?”, every coworker suddenly finds the floor fascinating. You laugh it off, but deep down, she’s not wrong. There are clowns here—just the kind who schedule meetings about meetings.
