Some offices have holiday parties people look forward to. Yours apparently hosts an annual biohazard event. Not once but twice the entire company came down with a brutal stomach flu the day after the Christmas party—everyone puking, calling out sick, and questioning every appetizer they touched.

At that point, it’s less a party and more a gastrointestinal trap disguised with tinsel. People probably showed up the next year with hand sanitizer and fear in their eyes. When a company gains a reputation like that, the best advice really is: do not attend the Christmas party unless you enjoy chaos with a side of crackers and ginger ale.
