#9: Not So Progressive After All
Some people find these so-called progressive shows about people with mental disabilities to be wholesome and inclusive. Others, on the other hand, find them to have the opposite effect. If you’re going to create a television series with progressive plots, then the show should probably do more to portray the stereotypes it is trying to challenge. If you want to bring attention to the difficulties of the LGBT community or Neurodivergences in the professional setting, then your theme should portray struggles.
They have a point. The struggles are real, and there are plenty of them in the world today. So, why waste our time on these “modern soap operas” instead of providing entertaining and inspiring content that could actually make a difference and even be interesting to watch?
