#20: Local News Reporter
Your local news reporters follow a lot of stories. From local economics to small-town gossip, they are always on the beat. But … here’s the thing … they’re not part of the White House press pool, and they don’t actually know the president. Your local reporter’s chance of covering a world-stopping headline is fairly slim.

There’s something else local reporters want you to know, too. No one pays them to write a story in their favor. Reporters are paid by the organizations they represent, and there’s no chance of paying them off. They might be a local, but they’ve taken a journalistic oath to cover all sides without bias.
