Larroquette continued building a long television career after Night Court. He starred in The John Larroquette Show, took dramatic roles in The Practice and Boston Legal, and was a fixture on The Librarians. His talent for both comedy and drama earned him consistent acclaim.

In 2023, he reprised Dan Fielding in the Night Court reboot, this time as a public defender. The character was reimagined as older and wiser, but still hilariously biting. Larroquette remains one of the few original stars actively working in television today.
