Scientists refer to this as bioluminescence, or in other words, glowing organisms. These are tiny organisms, such as plankton, that emit light in the dark. This means it isn’t the sand that’s glowing, but the water on the shore.

You might wonder where in the world can you find a glowing beach, for your next romantic getaway. This type of luminous marine life is most common in tropical areas, such as the Maldives, but you can also find them in the U.S, in California or Florida.
