#33: Druther’s (1963–1992)
Originally launched as Burger Queen in 1963, this chain served classic fast food like burgers, fried chicken, and milkshakes. In the early 1980s, the company rebranded as Druther’s to shift away from the “queen” image and diversify its menu.

With a red-roofed design and a mascot named Queenie Bee, it became a recognizable name in parts of the Midwest and South. However, as larger competitors took over the market, Druther’s struggled to keep up. In 1990, Dairy Queen acquired the company, and by 1992, most Druther’s locations were converted or closed.
