#33: Who Knows?
We all have to learn a harsh truth at some point in life: our parents and grandparents don’t have all the answers. As children, we look up to our parents and grandparents and believe they know everything about life. As we grow older, we’re hit with the harsh truth that they are pretty much clueless, just like us.
For this woman, it happened when she was around nine years old, during a Tornado watch. The family was at home freaking out about the tornado, and the young girl, scared out of her wits, turned to her grandma for solace. She asked her, “are we going to die?” and rather than offer her support and comforting words, the best her grandma could do was offer the truth- how the hell does she know what’s going to happen?
