This poster named Charlie shared how his parents seem to have gotten together because of a matchmaking mother. Allegedly, Charlie’s dad was initially interested in someone else, but she wasn’t into it. Instead of giving up and moving on, he started dating one of the other sisters in the family! This other sister is obviously Charlie’s mom, so the relationship worked out.

We wonder if they would have gotten together if it wasn’t for Charlie’s grandma getting involved. This probably still happens with some larger families in small towns, but it seems to have been way more common back in the day. The dating pool was a lot smaller before the days of internet dating, and mothers had more say in these matters.
