#40: That’s Bananas
There are two things that everyone can agree on when it comes to shopping these days. First, everything is so gosh darn expensive. Second, there are fewer employees manning the registers and more self-checkout stations. Combine those two things, and you have a recipe for the “going bananas” hack. Here’s what it is.
Allegedly, people have bought expensive deli meats, cheeses, and other pricey delicacies at the self-checkout station. When it comes time to ring up those items, they count them as heavier-weighted fruit items, like bananas. Bananas are obviously way cheaper than fancy deli meats, so they end up paying less for more. Word on the street is that this fishy hack is called “going bananas.”
