#40: Lucked Out
It sounds like this person had more luck than anything else. He certainly didn’t help his own case by admitting – voluntarily and without any prompting – that he was smoking pot. I guess it isn’t the worst thing in the world, though, and an overall harmless crime, and I guess the judge felt the same way.
I wonder why he felt compelled to come forward, though. Keeping this information to himself wouldn’t have been lying, as no one even asked about that. Maybe it’s part of his “turning his life around” plan – maybe he wanted to clean his conscience and put everything out on the table. Either way, everything worked out in the end.
