#39: Rooky Mistake
It feels like the most obvious thing about court is that you should respect the judge. Especially if I were on trial, I wouldn’t dare talk back to the judge or accuse them of being rude, even if I thought they were being rude. Did this person honestly think they were helping their case by talking back to the judge like this?
Besides, the client was told they don’t need to be in court, and not only did they decide to show up against their lawyer’s advice, but they showed up and caused a commotion and potentially ruined their case. Who knows? Maybe the case would’ve gone awry wither way, but their behavior certainly didn’t make things better.
