These trophies are the modern-day symbol of entitled youth. Apparently, just showing up is enough to earn you a shiny trophy nowadays. If you didn’t actually win, why should you get a trophy? It’s like saying, “congratulations on existing; here’s your reward.” How is that supposed to teach anyone the value of hard work and dedication?
In the past, you had to earn your trophies through blood, sweat, and tears. And even then, you weren’t guaranteed a prize. But now, we’ve got a whole generation of kids who think they’re entitled to success without putting in any effort. Thanks, participation trophies, for setting the bar so low…
