#15: That’s Why You Measure Twice, Cut Once
The proverb “measure twice, cut once” has been around for a while. It has remained in our popular culture because it’s true. When doing a home improvement project, you always want to measure twice, cut once. Otherwise, you get interior design blunders like this room. We can’t put our finger on it, but something is off.

Imagine putting hours of hard work into this project, only to find that the entire fireplace is off-center. It’s not even off-center by a little bit. That thing is off by a good foot! The entire corner of this room is off. The placement of the TV seems odd, and the cupboards aren’t centered on the ceiling. The feng shui is just all wrong.
