When birds create nests in our windowsills, we tend to see it as more of a curse than a blessing. We immediately seek ways to remove the nest or at least mitigate the detriments of its presence. What we don’t usually do is offer our animal neighbors a truce and agree to share the space with them.

However, if every time we encountered a nest invading our human enclave, it was filled with a family of red squirrels resembling this one, I’m not sure we’d be so quick to try and get rid of them. Just look at how adorable they are all cuddled up together. Who could disturb them?
