#6: She Wasn’t Going to Work on Just Any Old Film
The disaster of Wicked Stepmother was pure Bette Davis drama. She signed on thinking the film would be sharp, funny, and twisted in all the right ways. But the script kept changing behind her back, and the director kept making decisions without her input. So she quit. Just walked off the set.

The film was stitched together with body doubles and voiceovers, but everyone could tell. Without Bette, the movie had no bite. She had stormed out of the picture, and in doing so, left behind another story no one could stop talking about.
