#44: From Friends to Frenemies
This is an awful story. I hate when parents are catalysts for such heartbreak and hate between friends. You can compare your kid and others all you want to, but don’t say it out loud. That’s unacceptable and wreaks havoc on good friendships! The girl isn’t entirely blameless, though. She made some questionable choices.

It saddens me that it took fifty years for her to apologize. Still, I’m sure that being the woman’s daughter was no easy feat, and she had plenty of time to work through her issues. At least there was no actual bodily harm. That would have made this ten times worse.
