The bright side of the moon
In 1969, American spacecraft Apollo 11 made history when it landed on the moon for the first time. When the lucky astronauts took their first steps on the moon – a huge step for mankind – the excitement around the world was palpable. They didn’t realize that one day the moon would be so close, it could be served to us on a platter.
This shot was taken in Dubai, when a lucky photographer happened to catch the moon at a very photogenic angle. There’s an old saying that the moon is made of green cheese – I don’t know about green, but this photo certainly makes it seem as if the moon is a round wheel of cheese, don’t you think?
