A Personal Touch
As you may or may not have noticed, Quentin Tarantino loves to add his own personal touch to each of his movies. This, of course, is what adds to his unique directorial style and has made his movies so successful and well-known. Sometimes he adds his own personal touch on a much more literal level – by using his own handwriting.
The opening title of Inglourious Basterds isn’t a fancy graphic design full of special effects and marketing ploys. It’s literally a scanned copy of Tarantino’s own handwriting, as seen in the photo of the script above. Using his own unedited handwriting for the opening title tells viewers just how involved he is with all of his projects.
