#5: He Was Just Trying to Help
This person shared a hilariously embarrassing story about his grandfather. His grandad was trying to be a good samaritan but just ended up looking like a complete doofus. One time on a train, he noticed that a passenger had left behind their bag as they were getting off. Wanting to be helpful, he grabbed the bag without thinking and chased after the person.
He wasn’t able to catch up to them, so in a last-ditch effort to reunite the passenger with their bag, he threw it out of the train as the automatic doors were closing. This would have been a nice, heroic gesture, but there was one major problem. The bag didn’t belong to that departing passenger, it belonged to someone else still on the train! This guy’s grandad inadvertently stole someone else’s bag and lost it forever. The rest of that train ride must have been pretty awkward.
