#15: She Meant Well
Airplane travel can be unpleasant sometimes, but every once in a while you’re lucky enough to sit next to someone who is super friendly and nice. This Twitter user was trying to be that positive person during a recent plane ride, but it absolutely backfired on her. She was sitting next to an older woman who she assumed was having trouble turning on her personal plane TV. Without asking, Leanora leaned over and pressed the power button, thinking she was helping her out.
Feeling satisfied that she helped an elder, she relaxed for a few hours until she realized that the old lady hadn’t been struggling at all. Her screen just looked turned off because each TV had a privacy screen, so the older woman was just casually flipping through the channels, not trying to turn on the screen. Leanora had actually just turned the lady’s TV off without a word of explanation and she probably thought she was insanely rude. Moral of the story: don’t underestimate your elders when it comes to technology (and probably mind your own business).
