It’s All About the Journey
In the early stages of her project, before she gained fame and attention, Skipper was looking for interesting trades on different platforms such as the Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay, and other online platforms for barters. Her goal wasn’t necessarily to find her dream house, but to see how far this project could go.
When she first started the project, she shared her very first video on Instagram and TikTok, saying “‘I’m trading a bobby pin up until I get a house.” While it took Kyle MacDonald 14 trades over the course of a year to finally exchange a role in the film Donna on Demand for a farmhouse, Skipper has made 28 trades over the course of 18 months.
