The First Trade
Back in 2005, Kyle MacDonald opened a website dedicated to his trading project, and through the Internet, over the course of a year, he met with different people and traded item by item until he traded his final item for a house. Of course, these days, with the different social media platforms- it’s easier to connect with people from all over the country!
That’s what Demi Skipper set out to do- and little did she know her side project would become so viral. Inspired by Kyle MacDonald’s story, in May 2020 Skipper decided to start her trading project with a single, 1¢ bobby pin. She was able to trade it for a pair of earrings.
