The world is populated with insects. We all know this and respond to it in various ways, ranging from reluctant tolerance to extreme loathing and disgust. One thing is crucial: These insects never destroy the careful balance of nature by thinking that they are the dominant evolutionary force and not us humans. This is why an ant hill of this size is so alarming. We can tolerate a small ant hill here or there, but they must know their place and not start getting the wrong idea!
