Growing Up Fast
It is a sad fact of life that our dogs have much shorter life spans than we do. But this also leads to some interesting facts about how quickly dogs’ bodies mature. I always heard that a single dog year is equivalent to seven human years, but this fact disputes that anecdotal notion.
Instead, it appears that a one-year-old dog is about as physically mature as a 15-year-old human. Now that you know that, it’s easy to see why it is so important to have your dogs fixed while they are young if you are not interested in them making puppies. Do you think spaying dogs should be obligatory or up to the owners? Let us know back in the comments.
