This next pet fact sound more like a conspiracy than an actual true statement. But it seems that at least some research supports the idea that dogs decide where to defecate based on their alignment with the Earth’s magnetic field. Who would’ve guessed dogs are into geography?

Results from extensive observations found that under normal conditions, dogs usually choose to align themselves with Earth’s north/south axis. I guess having a puppy with you when you’re going for a hike can be quite useful, as they can essentially serve as a compass!
