Don’t Let the Hamsters Loose
It does not seem like a cute and cuddly hamster could wreak much havoc, but apparently, that is the case, at least in Hawaii. Hawaii has a specific law that bans hamsters entirely. But when you find out the reason behind that ban, it makes sense. After all, if you ever had a hamster, you know they can often be temperamental.
Since hamsters are not a natural part of the Hawaiian ecosystem, they would do a lot of damage to local food chains if they were ever let loose on one of the islands. If you look into the issue, you’ll realize that Hawaii has had a long history of invasive species arriving on the islands, so preventing that issue in the future is a wise approach.
