Crazy Things Pet Cats Do

September 12, 2021 by brandyellen

Cats might look cute when they’re eating or sleeping, but cats do some really silly things that just seem plain odd at times. Before you get mad at your cat for doing these crazy things though, remember…they are only trying to tell you something.

Here is a list of the top six strange things that cats do.

Twitching Their Paws

Cats get excited when they see you petting them, especially if it’s something new for them, like a new toy or scratching post. They get so excited that they start twitching their paws!

What your cat is trying to say: “This is so exciting! Please don’t stop.”

Cats Over Grooming Themselves

When they are all alone for a long time they find themselves over grooming themselves…even to the point of making themselves bald in some areas. They do this because it comforts them and helps calm them down.

Purring to Make You Happy

Cats purr when they are in pain, but they also make this sweet rumbling noise because it makes them feel better. It is believed that cats do this because humans pet them when they purr.

Burying Their Paws in Litter

This is one of the more unusual things cats do, but if your cat is digging their paws into the litter instead of covering it up you know he or she wants to play.

Making Weird Faces When They’re Happy

Cats who are happy and excited to see you at the end of the day might do this weird activity where they pull their lips back into a grin and stick their tails up in the air. This means they’re ready to give kisses!

What your cat is trying to say: “Let’s get cuddly!”

Climbing on You

Sometimes cats like to climb on their owners, even if the owner doesn’t want them to. Cats do this because they are looking for warmth and love; it also feels nice when you stroke your cat’s belly.

What your cat is trying to say: “I love you!”
