34. Civil Engineer
If civil engineers designed civility, the world might be a better place. Instead, they’re the folks who are keeping the infrastructure together. They’re responsible for the construction and upkeep of things like bridges, tunnels, sidewalks, and airports. Since we’ve cleared that up, let’s take a look at a misconception that drives them crazy.
Concrete and cement ARE NOT the same things. For the love of civil engineers everywhere, please get it right. While cement is an ingredient in concrete, concrete is a much different mixture. It contains stone, sand, and aggregate. Now that you know, don’t ever confuse the two again — especially not in front of a civil engineer.
