#17: Hot Lava
This tweet is everything. This is everything I needed to read today to take me back to my childhood when we played the game of hot lava and life was pure and simple. Our biggest concern was not to step on the hot floor. And she is so right: we still act like kids playing the floor-is-lava game every time we walk on a freshly-mopped floor.

When you have to walk over a freshly-mopped floor and you want to express how sorry you are for walking over the wet floor, you walk gently and awakwardly, as if you’re walking on hot lava. We all do it without even realizing we do it. It’s an instinct. An instinct we all share. Isn’t that amazing?
