Rate My Professor
This University of Hartford student has a hot take on professors. They are of the opinion that every professor should earn a teaching degree before they can get a teaching job at a college. It makes sense, in a way. Someone can be a top expert on a subject, but that doesn’t mean they are a good teacher. If they don’t know how to effectively communicate their knowledge to other people, being a professor will be a challenge for them and their students.

There’s the old adage, “Those who can’t, teach.” That is absolutely not true! Being a teacher of any kind, professor or otherwise, is a tough job that requires a special set of skills that not everyone possesses. While earning a teaching degree might not be the answer for every college, there definitely should be some kind of way to gauge whether a potential professor has good teaching skills before they get hired.
