#60: Rainbow
From 1972-1992, Rainbow was a staple for British children. It boasted a cast including Geoffrey Hayes and Roy Skelton and a $30,000 episode budget. It was created by Pamela Lonsdale and enjoyed twenty years on Thames Television until Carlton TV’s advent.

A puppeteer’s revelation in 2019 about behind-the-scenes activities shifted perceptions of ‘Rainbow.’ Despite having educated kids with 1,026 episodes, Carlton TV’s decision to discontinue it marked the end, unveiling a less innocent side to the lively puppet adventures.
